Position Title: Staff Accountant /Sr. Staff Accountant

You'll be working with account teams to help ensure the financial health of their businesses, developing spreadsheets, bringing your analytical mind and love of numbers to the table in an environment that is team driven with a focus on growth.

Essential functions of the Staff Accountant role:

  • Assist in managing an entire business unit(s) – all monthly transactions including client finance
  • Support business unit client finances; process client invoices; prepare reports to management
  • Communicate ongoing project(s) financial status to teams
  • Build and run billing and financial reports
  • Update day-to-day reports and schedules
  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports ensuring proper approval and documentation obtained
  • Process corporate credit card bookings and ensure proper classification and coding of expenses and proper documentation obtained
  • Make collection calls, research, and process customer claims of invoice payments
  • Update data and audit for internal reports
  • Contribute to monthly close process
  • Assist with employee requests for new jobs/job access
  • Assist with special projects, as required

Essential functions of the Senior Staff Accountant role:

  • Assist in managing an entire business unit(s) – all monthly transactions including client finance
  • Support business unit client finances; process client invoices; prepare reports to management
  • Communicate ongoing project(s) financial status to teams
  • Assist in managing business development opportunities with Senior management
  • Support Controllers with variance explanations, budgets and forecasting activities regarding financial results
  • Analyze financial reports including project hours and expenses
  • Assist with calculating and tracking client and project profitability
  • Understand and elevate potential issues to ensure proper accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare and investigate as required hours and expenses for client projects incurred to track against forecasts and billings
  • Build financial reports
  • Prepare and review day-to-day reports and schedules
  • Contribute to monthly close process
  • Ability to liaise with various project leads and other office finance departments on intercompany transactions as required
  • Review AP for proper approval and coding of business unit expenses
  • Lead special projects, as required

Qualifications needed:

Minimum required:

  • Staff Accountant: 1-3 years in an accounting, finance or data analyst role
  • Senior Staff Accountant: 4+ years in an accounting, finance or data analyst role

 Other required:

  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Experience with Excel including V-lookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas

 Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or business related field of study
  • Proven ability to develop spreadsheets and build reports
  • Ability to sort through data in a logical and expedited fashion
  • Ability to prioritize with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate actively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks under deadlines
